I’m thrilled to announce: Android Press is my new publisher!
They are very aligned with my work in the world, particularly with The Working.

Justine and I have crossed paths many times over the past five years, which is why I wrote to them first to ask if they’d give my book a new home.
Solarpunk Circles
Justine wears many hats: publisher, editor, writer, Witch, musician. Our connection is mostly through solarpunk circles.
As founder and co-Editor-in-Chief of Solarpunk Magazine, they published my story “Maybe We Are All Witches” in Issue 6 (November 2022). Perhaps you’ve read it—I reference The Working in a fun way.
Justine interviewed me for the magazine (November 2024, Issue 18) when The Working first came out.
They also invited a story in Bioluminescent: a Lunarpunk Anthology. There you’ll find “When the Web Went Down,” one of my favorite stories set in the solarpunk future I’ve been writing, the setting for a number of my published stories.
I love my book’s cover. Artist and designer Kelley York, owner of Sleeping Fox Studio, graciously allowed me to continue to use it. She updated the cover text to include my blurbs. (Need a book cover or design help for your book? I highly recommend Kell!)
The Genre Dance
What is my book? Depending on the day or who I talk with, I call it a Witchy, solarpunk contemporary fantasy. Or fabulist and feminist.
Early on, I called it lunarpunk. And it is. Though these days I just say solarpunk, which it also is. I wrote a few things about this, and why this isn’t a binary:
- in 2023, The Nonbinary Nature of Solarpunk/Lunarpunk
- in 2026, “Nonbinary Thinking is Solarpunk and Essential“
But also, I love that Justine calls my book lunarpunk and eco-fantasy on the Android site. That’s just as accurate. And it’s fun for me to see how others tag it.
In addition to fantasy, it shows up as paranormal, occult, and thriller on the big sites.

The New Printing is Out!
The new printing of my book from Android Press is rolling out through distribution channels—if not already, you’ll soon find my book in all the places. It’s now available directly through Android in paperback or e-book. Consider purchasing from your local Indie bookstore. Request The Working from your library.
This second printing includes Praise for—blurbs from wonderful authors that I collected early on but were never added to my book. I corrected a few things in the narrative and updated Acknowledgments as well.
