Join me for a book launch party Tuesday, October 8th from everywhere! (It’s online) I’m so excited to celebrate The Working‘s birth with you.
Even though the book’s been available a few months, October is a perfect time to party: the story begins at Samhain (Halloween) at the coven’s Ancestor ritual.
Party time is geared to Turtle Island/Brazil evening (7:30 pm EDT). We’ll gather for 90 minutes to 2 hours, and it’s okay to join late if need be.
Fun & Magic
I’m brewing fun, creative, and magical activities to share. Even a special cocktail/mocktail. Well, you’ll need to mix it yourself—recipe below.
Perhaps you’d like to wear party clothes or hat. Or something themed to The Working, like what you picture Betsy, Sail, Fire, Mari, or Tal wearing. I suppose you could dress as the creature, though we don’t want to invoke him!
You don’t need to read my book to join us. Of course, I hope you’ll read The Working at some point!
Excited & Relieved
My various communities will converge at the party … writers, Witches, educators, solarpunks. I love that you’ll get to meet one another. And I’ll get to meet new friends since I’ve announced the party publicly.
The relieved part? I feel like the log jam finally broke once I set up the party. Whew. Although I’m thrilled my book is out there and I enjoy taking part in talks, panels, interviews and the like, navigating book publicity has been rather overwhelming. So I’m doubly excited to party now!
The Brew
Adjust the following ingredients to taste. For more spice, use the flavored vodka or add more ginger. More citrus notes? Add more lemon.
The Coven Concoction
- muddle dark cherries (frozen or fresh) and mint (fresh or dried)
- add cinnamon and ginger (fresh or powdered) to taste
- add ice
- add ginger-flavored or unflavored vodka; juice from 1/2 a lemon plus water for mocktail
- add a splash of club soda or seltzer
- serve with a slice of lemon
Here’s a video I made showing how to create a Coven Concoction. Enjoy!
