I’ve been hard on myself about pausing my posts and emails amidst writing and other deadlines. And yet, I work with Time as my ally.
With a huge sigh of relief, I call to Whole Time and situate myself within the infinite, the everything, the All. Then, I let go of the sense of time passing quickly and not feeling productive enough. Whew!
What is your relationship with Time?
I dance in Whole Time and am inspired to connect: soon, I’ll send you all a delicious newsletter with musings, doodles, and updates. (Have you signed up for my infrequent newsletter?)
I dance in Whole Time and have fun planning with Lilo Assenci our decolonized Elements of Magic class for this summer’s in-person SpiralHeart Witchcamp.
I dance in Whole Time and play with ideas for the story Justine Norton-Kertson commissioned for Bioluminescent: A Lunarpunk Anthology.
I dance in Whole Time and co-conspire with Reclaiming friends to offer Storying a Bright Future during virtual Wild Ginger Witchcamp in June . . . to facilitate a fabulous Vermont Witchcamp in August . . . and a regional gathering with Tejas Web in October.
Meanwhile . . . I’m thrilled to share my climate fiction with you!
“Myco Macro” will be featured in the next issue of Optopia (June 2022)! It’s a visceral exploration of a reciprocal relationship with the mycorrhizal network. “Maybe We Are All Witches” explores different ways of knowing and will appear in the November 2022 issue of Solarpunk Magazine. Amidst devastation and loss, unexpected allies plant seeds for a regenerative society in “Ancestors, Descendants.” It will appear in a 2023 solarpunk anthology that I look forward to telling you more about. All of these stories take place in the hopeful, solarpunk future I envision.
Speaking of climate fiction, I’ll be in excellent company among other panelists & presenters at the October 1, 2022 Cli-Fi Conference. Register soon and join us! Plus, vote by August 15th among the finalists for the first annual Utopia Awards that exemplify hopeful, utopian climate fiction. Check out the nominees for wonderful reading suggestions!
What just, regenerative future will you work for?
Imagine hopeful futures: see why solarpunk and lunarpunk are timely and potent. I’m excited about these movements and vibes, as you may have noticed in my recent posts. (Lots of resources in those posts—hope you’ll check them out.) Are you solarpunk?
Blessings of the approaching Solstice!
